Abstract:The protection of labor rights was closely connected with the pursuit of fair trade when it became an international issue. The combination of labor rights and trade, on the one hand, can protect the labor more ef ectively, on the other may bring about non-tarif barriers. Developed countries, developing countries and multinational corporations, which are playing a more important role in the process of globalization, will find a confl ict between pursuit of inside interest and maintenance of outside moral image when introducing labor standards into trade activities. Inevitably, the importance of the protection of labor rights has been upgraded to a large extent in daily international trade and the issue of labor has been deeply planted in the transnational trade activities, not only from the view of nations and international institutions but also from the multinational corporations and NGOs.
