Abstract:since the accession to WTO in 2001, China’s commercial banks have developed rapidly through theshareholding reform. At the same time, the overseas mergers and acquisitions by China’s commercial banks havealso been in a new stage and have set a good example for China’s enterprises going global. What’s more, it has alsoplayed an important role in helping China to go global and enhancing national competitiveness. Nevertheless, theoverseas mergers and acquisitions by China’s commercial banks still face some problems, such as being impactedseverely by international financial and trade environmental restrictions, imperfection of risk assessment mechanism, shortage of human resources and difficult adaptation of domestic regulations and system with the internationalcommunity.
