Abstract:FDI can promote the economic development and technological progress of the host country. Technological advances may bring a technical supervision criteria derivative and upgrade, which maps the formation of technical barriers in the field of international trade. The relationship between FDI and technological progress has basically reached a consensus that FDI can contribute to the technological progress of the host country. It still needs research and verification whether there is any relevancy among FDI, technological progress and technical barriers. In this paper, empirical analysis based on the 1992~2012 data shows that the technical progress makes a big contribution rate to the formation of technical barriers in China. And as time goes on, the contribution rate presents a steady rising trend. But the uptrend has been slowing down gradually, i.e., the marginal contribution rate decrease
