Since China’s accession to the WTO, the global value chain has experienced a process of expansion and deepening. The multilateral trade mechanism is faced up with significant challenge. Global rules on trade and investment are under reconstruction, featuring the negotiations and conclusion of mega-regional trade agreements, which reflects the interest claims of the developed economies at the top of global value chain level. In the past fifteen years, China has started its new journey of actively participating in economic globalization and it is inevitable for China to take input of knowledge capital as a main strategy for upgrading its position in the global value chains in its future wider opening policy.
