Abstract:Based on the latest OECD-WTO database of international input-output table, applying GVC position index, the paper measures international division status of China’s manufacturing industry of different trade modes under global value chain from 1995 to 2011, based on the two levels grouped by subdivision manufacturing. It finds that: (1) There are obvious differences in the international division status of manufacturing industry of different trade modes. The status is relatively low but generally rises in the processing trade manufacturing industry, and it is relatively high but generally declines in the non-processing trade manufacturing industry. (2) There are obvious differences in the international division status in different subdivision manufacturing industries. The status is relatively low in the main export industries such as computer, electronic and optical equipment, textiles, textile products, leather and footwear, and it is relatively high in resource intensive industry.
