This article uses the Chinese Industrial Enterprise Database and Customs Database from 2000 to 2006 to measure the quality of imported products and analyzes the channels of the quality of imported products thataffect the productivity of enterprises. The results show that the company imports high-quality capital goods、 intermediates and consumer goods can increase business productivity; companies import high-quality capital goods and consumer goods can promote enterprises to increase R&D and then enhance the productivity of enterprises, the negative effect of the intermediates product technology innovation, import high-quality capital goods, intermediates and consumer goods. The competition in the industry is intensifying, which will promote the enterprises to improve their competitiveness through the promotion of their productivity. The competitive effects of the general trading enterprises, processing trade enterprises, and mixed-trade enterprises that import intermediate goods are positive, but the technological innovation effect of processing trade enterprises is negative. The technology innovation effect of processing trade enterprises in processing trade enterprises is negative, while the technology innovation effect of feed processing trade enterprises and mixed enterprises is positive.
