Abstract:As an important trade agreement in the Asia-pacific region, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is bound to produce huge trade effects. This paper mainly focuses on the global manufacturing industry and simulates the impact of RCEP on the global manufacturing division through the GTAP model. We find that RCEP has a significant impact on the global manufacturing division pattern, and its completion will further improve the position of Asia in the world. RCEP will not only boost China’s manufacturing exports and increase its share of the world market, but also help it move up the global value chain. In addition, the influence of RCEP on the division structure is different in the segmentation of industries. The conclusion of this paper provides a certain reference for Chinese manufacturing industry to seize the opportunity of RCEP to upgrade GVC positon.
