Abstract:This paper uses text analysis and case study methods to give a clear explanation of the history and the status of Morocco’s international financial center, and focuses on the academic interpretation of the risks, challenges and development trends facing Casablanca Financial City. The main conclusions show that Morocco has committed to enhancing its position in regional and international finance system in recent years, and actively taking advantage of its political stability, location, infrastructure and strong macroeconomic fundamentals to construct regional economic and financial center. Meanwhile, Morocco developed Casablanca Financial City with a series of preferential policies such as administrative examination and approval, tax incentives, free movement of people and capital, which aims to attract international and domestic well-known enterprises or institutions to make Morocco become a key financial hub in North Africa. Thus, the hub may build up a benchmark for the financial sector of the Francophonie. In the end, several policy recommendations were proposed as well.
