Abstract:Based on the world input-output data , this paper calculates the input digitization level of manufacturing industry, and empirically tests the impact of input digitization on the status of division of labor in global value chain in manufacturing industry.The results show that input digitization has a significant positive impact on the promotion of the division of labor position of manufacturing global value chain, and mainly plays a role through digital transaction input and digital infrastructure input.At the same time, the impact of input digitization on the climbing position of global value chain in manufacturing in developing countries is greater than that in developed countries. And for technology-intensive,capital-intensive and labor-intensive manufacturing industries, the impact is positive to all three but weaken in the order. The conclusion of the research provides empirical evidence and decision-making reference for promoting the input digitization and realizing a high-end leap forward of the global value chain in manufacturing.
