Abstract:Previous studies on the characteristics of top managers are often independently explored from the resource-based view and the high-ladder team theory, both of which ignore the internal mechanism of the impact of the characteristics of top executives on corporate strategy, that is, as the main decision maker of corporate strategy, executive cognition or executive attention allocation determines the development direction and organizational behavior of an enterprise. Based on the basic view of attention and the perspective of dynamic ability, this paper selects listed companies with overseas investment business from 2014 to 2018 as research samples, and adopts text analysis method to measure the attention of executives. Through the empirical analysis, the following conclusions are drawn: (1) the senior management team with overseas experience can promote the internationalization process of enterprises, and has a significant positive impact on the internationalization degree of enterprises. (2) The international attention of senior executives plays an intermediary role in the overseas experience of senior executives and the degree of internationalization. (3) Enterprise dynamic capability can significantly regulate the positive impact of executive attention on the degree of internationalization. This paper enriches the research on the influence of senior executives' overseas experience on the degree of internationalization, and deepens the theoretical application of the basic view of attention and dynamic ability in the research of internationalization, providing theoretical basis and reference for the allocation of senior executives’teams and international strategic decision-making.
